The Great US Treasure Hunt 2024
The Great US Treasure Hunt has a new release date: 10/22/24. Because of Hurricane Milton, Dave thought it best to hold off a week of releasing The Great US Treasure Hunt 2024. So…. if you haven’t ordered your book yet, there is more time to do so!
Solution to MW’s Monthly Puzzle: A Quiet Place
On September 15th, the puzzle for the month: A Quiet Place was posted.
Congrats to TreasureHunter who solved the puzzle – and who will receive a MW Treasure Medallion.
The answer was: Hooded Grave Cemetery. A rural cemetery which holds the only two caged graves in America.
Here is the solution.
The letters, W R T R, are in black in the poem. They happen to be in positions 1, 7, 8, and 20 in the line.
17820 is the Zip Code for Catawissa, PA.
From the poem it can deduced it is referring to 2 unique graves.
If you google ‘2 unique graves Catawissa PA’ – Hooded Grave Cemetery comes up. If you check Google Street View, the location matches the background image to confirm the answer.
This cemetery is believed to have the only 2 caged graves in the US. Although some legends say it was to keep those that passed from escaping – because they were feared to be witches, vampires, or other creatures wanting to remain underground, it is more likely the cages were placed to keep the graves from being robbed.
Who knows? Best to leave the cages over the graves.
One of the great things about ‘Treasure Hunting’ is that while exploring you get to learn about new things, places, and people!
The Quest’s next monthly puzzle will be sent to paid subscribers on October 15th. Again, these are not meant to be difficult but learning experiences. The person who submits the correct answer first will win a MW Treasure Medallion.
