Treasure Hunt Clues, Solutions, and Six Questions
February 2025 already! Spring and a new search season will be here before we know it - even if the groundhog says six more weeks of winter!
There has been lots going on with numerous different treasure hunts. Let’s get to it!
There’s Treasure Inside Notes
American Treasure Podcast E3
Dave Colonna chats once again with JCB in the American Treasure Podcast episode #3. I’d recommend having a listen. Here are few of my top takeaways:
JCB mentions using Google Maps - before ever going BOTG
It’s noted treasure hunting makes you more attentive to surroundings - you’re paying attention to the landscape, trees, rivers, lakes, rock formations - “anything that might be related to the clues you feel you have to work with.”
JCB chats about how FF’s hunt was vague - how everything could be “interpreted a thousand different ways”. I found this interesting because it seems to suggest JCB may have provided more definitive clues in his hunt.
JCB also confirms he hid the FF Treasure box in one of the 4 search states: Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, or New Mexico. He reads the first stanza of his poem - and says that is the implication of it.
There was a bit of discussion on what was inside FF’s Olive Jar. JCB did say there was a poem, but nothing more about it - other than he read it - the whole autobiography. From that statement it didn’t sound like a separate poem to me. From MW’s Featured Q/A with FF we know Forrest placed a lock of his hair in the jar - so it was known the autobiography wasn’t the only item in the jar. Whatever the poem is, as of now, he is going to leave that for the finder to discover.
Letter Pairs in Word Search
I recently released a post about letter pairs found in the Word Search. I’m sure in every WS there are double letters to find - but might they be a clue for this box? Might they be one of the 5 clues in the WS?
I think possibly. Taking only the horizontal letter pairs - TOP SECRET O can be given (excluding triple letter sets). Can the vertical letter pairs, and/or the diagonal pairs, also provide something of possible value?
Here are pairs I found - I MAY HAVE MISSED SOME …(please let me know if you see any that I missed)
Can another hidden message be found in the double letters? Something to explore.

Jon Collins-Black’s Email and Book’s Dust Jacket
In the recent JCB email it was mentioned those who received a TTI book with a damaged dust jacket can request a new one. While I’m sure JCB cares about searchers getting a book in good condition it is interesting by doing this he is also making sure everyone that ordered a book has a dust jacket.
It hints to the hidden verse inside the dust jacket to possibly be important to the solution for the Lion’s Share Treasure Box. The verse was also included in ONLY the Lion’s Share box digital book - highlighting it even more to be a vital clue.
Two Treasure Hunt Six Questions Released
Candle’s Quest - Six Questions with Ron Smalec
Candle’s Quest is a treasure hunt utilizing the world of Minecraft. Puzzles and clues are in a book. Searchers go ‘virtual botg’ in Minecraft to find the treasures and claim the reward. Learn more how all that works in MW’s Six Questions with Ron.
Lady Liberty’s Treasure Hunt: Six Questions with Michael O’Connell
The hunt for over $100,000 in treasures - hidden somewhere in the Northeast - is in full progress. Clues to find the treasures are in a book. Searchers follow the clues to go out and physically find a hidden treasure! Learn more about this hunt in MW’s Six Questions with Michael.
Wixx and the Tome of Fates Solved
Congrats to the winners of Wixx and the Tome of Fates! This hunt was free for all to participate, and many searchers enjoyed the adventures. Clues were solved and the $2000 treasure was claimed - proxy item found.
A link to the full solution to the hunt was posted on the MW Forum in that hunt’s section.
